otag
Pitch your own.
Voice and text for your crew.
Servers, voice rooms, screen sharing and direct messages, in native apps that stay fast. Use our hosted platform, or run the whole thing yourself as a single binary.

The loom
Every server weaves its own.
In Otag the loom gives every server an emblem and a banner of its own, so nobody has to draw one. Name a server and watch it weave.
Features
Everything a crew needs, woven tight.
- 01
Servers in one click
Text channels, categories, roles with real permissions and invite links. Every server gets its own woven emblem and banner.
- 02
A chat that reads like a ledger
The time, the person and their words in clean columns. Markdown, images, files, link previews, reactions, edits and search.
- 03
Voice rooms with the screen in the middle
Push-to-talk or voice activation, noise suppression and per-person volume. Share a screen or a window with its sound, or turn on your camera.
- 04
DMs and groups
Direct and group conversations with full history, search, reactions and media.
- 05
Native apps
Real apps for macOS and Windows, plus iOS. Light on memory, quick to open, in a dark and a light theme.
- 06
Run it yourself
The whole platform is one binary. Host a private, invite-only instance: your server, your data, your rules.
Voice rooms
The screen hangs in a woven frame.
Join a room and talk. Share a screen and it hangs in the middle, with a shuttle running round the frame for as long as it is live. Everyone else sits in the tiles below, and a stitch marches round whoever is speaking.
- Screen and window sharing, with sound
- Camera in any voice room
- Push-to-talk that works in every app
- Noise suppression on your mic

Run it yourself
The whole platform is one binary.
Most people sign up and use the hosted platform: one account, servers in a click. The same platform also runs as a single program with one data directory. Set registration to invite-only and your company or your clan has a private Otag no one else can touch.
$ ./otag-server
# the first boot logs a one-time setup invite code
$ OTAG_REGISTRATION=invite ./otag-server
# private: people join with an invite code
TCP 7800 for the app, UDP 7801 for voice
